I will be travelling to France next month, I will land at the Geneva airport as the town I am going to is just ourside the Swiss border. I am in the process of applying for a Schengen Visa and would like to know if I will need a separate visa because I will land in Switzerland?
I also intend to visit Switzerland while on holiday and would like to know if i am going to need a different visa for this?
Is Switzerland under the Schengen Visa?

thanks

1) Switzerland is also part of the Schengen area, no seperate visa required.
2) The French Swiss border runs right along the edge of the airport; there is no need therefore to clear Swiss customs/immigration if you intend to go to France - you can enter into France directly (i.e. you have a choice on arrival which country to enter).

Aw, thank you so much.

In the event you return and this matters, remember that the total time limit does not change moving country to country in Schengen.
