Hi all,

I'll be in the Basel area for two weeks in May, sometimes in Basel, sometimes across the border not far in Germany. I'm relying on Google maps for driving directions and will need internet access from my iPad.

Does anyone know, is there a pre-paid/unlimited usage data SIM card I can purchase in Switzerland that will also work in Germany? I will be going as far as Frankfurt and south as far as Milan in Italy and it will be great if one SIM card can be used in all these places.

Thanks in advance.

One sim card can bu used in all these places but you will pay a hefty sum for internet roaming, why not just buy a cheap tom-tom or a cheap Nokia Lumia, you can download maps before travel and then use offline.

There are also GPS apps such as NavFree, which uses downloaded maps for directions, instead of downloading lots of data as you go along. There is an app for each country, so just download the ones you need.
