Hey Guys,

I'm going to be spending 12 days in Switzerland in Zurich and Bern however having never travelled it before I wanted an idea of how much money I will need for this trip any advice you can give me would be really great, I am planning on doing some of the tourist things but not Skiing. I am also hoping to stay with a friend for the majority of the time so won't need much for hostel and the like.

Thanks for any advice you can offer.

Europe in general - If you budget for 50-70euros per person per day that would be more than sufficient, seeing that you will be staying with friends. I believe that Switzerland is still using Swiss francs (CHF) so 70 euros is approx. 85 CHF or 60 pounds; and Switzerland is a little more expensive than the rest of western Europe.

I was in Switzerland last year and we managed to keep it under 75 euros per day per person, not including our main flights. We stayed mostly in hostels and only ate at restaurants about once per day (making our own food the rest of the time).
