We are two 28yr old gals who have just decided to make our way across to Barcelona for the Sonar festival in June.

As there is only 2of us, staying in villa's or apartments is just not worth the cost (as i could spend that shopping!!) and we would much rather accommadation where we can meet new ppl, have a bit of craic and as we wont 'really' be speding much time sleeping - as we will be sonar'ing DAY & NIGHT, a hostel is perfect for us.

A question for those living in Spain or used to backpacking there during summer.

My girlfriend and I are going to spend 14 days in Spain during the 7th of August – the 21st of August. We know it will be hot as hell and touristy during this time, but sadly that’s our only option of going this summer.

During those two weeks we will visit these towns in the following order:

Madrid

Segovia

Salamanca

Seville

Now, my question is this; do we need to book hostels ahead or can we just show up and expect…

I'm going with 5 friends to Ibiza (4th - 11th June) for 7 nights. I'm guessing it will be dozens of parties rolled into one big fiesta. Already have accomodation sorted in San Antoni. Need help from those in the know!! Looking for the best place to stay in Ibiza for a group of 26-28 year olds. None of us are bothered by the clubs but do enjoy our night life and music (funky house/jack johnson types!) so the place with the best beach bars and bars with dance floors would be more suited if anyone can suggest anything. Im am a 24 year old Australian guy currently living in Brighton in the UK and in 3 weeks im about to head over to Ibiza to live and work for a few months over summer.

I was just wondering if going over without a job or place to live (i have 1 weeks accom booked) is a wise idea, would i find work easily if im willing to work bar or promotions etc?

I am going to travel from Sevilla to Granada on 23 May, it supposed to be a popular train route but I am unable to find it from www.renfe.es, could anybody advise me if it is available?

Or how abt bus? www.discoversevilla.com shows a 8:00am bus available, is it sold out easily? Do we need prior booking?

Being paranoid about pickpockets is not the answer on your trips through Spain, but being alret, in my opinion, is. In my 5 months here, 3 times I have avoided crafty pickpockets by paying attention, but this past saturday was the icing on the cake. Tickets are booked and we are very excited! We have 7 days to wile away (excluding travel days) and have been told to spend more time in Barcelona instead of Madrid. We are 2 single girls in our late 20s, celebrating our birthdays in Spain. Mainly interested in food and wine, sightseeing, nightlife, in that order.
