Hello everyone,

I am looking for some direction on where to stop/stay to rest our heads on an upcoming trip to Spain.

My husband and I together with our baby (who will be 11 mos old then) are headed to Spain in August/Sept of this year. We have a total of 9 nights in Spain, and are hoping to divide it like this:

3 nights driving through the Pyrenees
3 nights in San Sebastian
3 nights in Barcelona

I made a post a few months back asking about what other cities to travel to in Spain, well I somehow got my dates woefully wrong. I thought we'd be in Spain for 10 days, we'll be there for FIVE! Oops.

We are 2 couples in the mid sixties, sporty though not very fit, who want to hike in the Alpujarra area in late October for about a week. Preferably we want to organize this ourselves, and walking just the four of us. But we do require some transport for our luggage between stops. Daily distance around 15 + km. So far I have been looking at the stretch from Competa to Travelez.
1. Any good suggestions on the itinerary? Alternatives are appreciated.

I am spending 8 nights in Andalusia starting 25th February. I have booked a hotel for the first couple of nights in Cadiz to catch the carnival there. Looking to spend time in Jerez, Seville and Tarifa. Also possibly want to visit the Donana National park depending on time. Any recomendations as to other festivals to visit during the dates that I am there.

We (2 adelts and 2 kids 5 and 9) will arrive in Barcelona july 13 and fly back home (Montreal) from Lisbon august 6 so we have 24 nights. We plan to stay 4-5 nights in barcelona, 2-3 Porto and 3-4 in Lisbon. That plan leaves us with 12-15 nights for the rest of our trip.

• We still try to figure train or car. If we get a car we sould have to drop it in Spain before getting one in portugal

We are planning a vacation in Andalucia during April. We wanted to do a nice trek in the Sierra Nevada and I am having difficulties to understand what is OK for this season. We are looking for an easy trek (up to 10km and ~750m vertical ascend a day), preferably with a staffed refugio offering meals. Also a couple of day walks that are OK in that season will also be good. We want to hike by ourselves, not with a group/guide.
Of course, any other walks in the region are welcomed.

Im spending 4 nights in Granada from the 5th Feb. Whilst there I'd like to do a 1-2 day hike/walk in the Sierra Nevada mountains.

Can anyone recommend a good place to book this through? I will be on my own, but would like to join a group.

Hello. I understand that conditions for carrying bikes on trains in Spain and Portugal vary according to what kind of train you are travelling on. (And, of course, whether there is space.) Does anyone know how the train between Pontevedra and Valenca (Minho) is classed (ie regional/commuter/international)? I will be in Spain in February on a tour. I would like to bring back a bottle of wine or two for myself. I have been looking around online and it looks like it is a bit difficult with packing, carry on, customs etc. I am originally just bringing carry on luggage with a duffel packed inside for shopping that I was planning on checking on my return.
