I am in Spain in October and am trying to organise the mode of transport to use for different legs of our trip. After checking this site I have decided not to drive for most of the trip.
Toledo to Cordoba - train or bus?
Cordoba to Granada - train or bus?
Granada to Seville - hire car to see some countryside , having an overnight stop in Ronda
Seville to Malaga - bus?
Can I book these tickets in advance - do I need to book in advance?
Thanks

Heya, you're going to love Spain! There's this app called BlaBlaCar, and it's basically hitching a ride with someone who is driving to the same place. It's super popular and safe, I've used it loads of times, and it's also a lot cheaper than buying a train or bus ticket!

Thank you for your advice - we are looking forward very much to Spain, however as we are a mature ( in age not in spirit) couple hitching wouldn't be an option.......

For Cordoba from Toeldo your best route would probably via Madrid, from Madrid i would take the fast train, booked in advance will save you money. Cordoba to Granada by bus it can be cheaper booked in advance but buses are reasonably cheap anyway so best left for flexibilty. Seville to Malaga either bus will be cheaper train faster, again booked in advance the train could be good. the two main places are www.renfe.es and www.alsa.es
Marshan,
While you have the advice required, I will also suggest to other readers that the website Rome2Rio is very useful in finding possible transport options. Just be aware that occasionally the site will not have a train or bus option that does exist.

Thank you for your advice richiavo, have checked the sites and will book in advance when I can
May be you check:
Madrid - Toledo - Madrid: train
Madrid - Cordoba: train
Cordoba - Sevilla: train
Sevilla - Ronda: bus
Ronda - Granada: train
Granada - Malaga: bus
direct trains resp buses along all these legs
