Being wine lovers, we are planning a visit to La Rioja this Jan 17. We have 5 days (from our 26 days in Spain). Where will be a good place to base from? Appreciate some suggestions.

We only stayed one night in Logroño this summer but thought it was lovely with absolutely fabulous pinchos and tapas in the centro storico (old town). I'm sure there are many more places to stay out in the country but why not base yourselves there for a couple of nights. We stayed in the F&G Hotel which is right on the edge of the old town and eating places.
