Hi there,

Next weekend we will be in Valencia!

Which (tapas/paella)restaurants should not be missed?
Off course it have to be great Spanish food (only fish is not my favorite).

Any special / recommended (beautiful / fun) places for (nice) coffee, breakfast, ice-creams, bars or outside people watching venues?
other recommendations for having a good time in the evening / night?

All should be affordable, but old style or brand new; doesn't matter as long as it's a vibrant place.
Just for the two of us (couple end-20's).
Greetings Sharon

Hi There!

I wish I could remember the name of the restaurant we went to! It had the most fantastic paella and it was really small and cute in a little plaza. If you dont like fish they did a mean chicken one. I will ask my boyfriend tonight if he remembers and will post back. We found it in one of Valencias local street magazines, so I suggest you pick one of those up when you are there. Heeps of great information! I also recommend just walking around the Barrio del Carmen. Great for wandering. Fantastic atmosphere and heeps of cool restaurants/bars to check out. The Mercado Central is fantastic and if you have self catering it is a great place to stock up for a special home cooked meal. Have a great time! and try the agua de valencia! I didnt get to when I was there, but plan to next time round :-)

The paella place sounds good!
For sure we will wander around Barrio del Carmen and already read about the agua de Valencia; have to sample some!

Pallacio de bellota,is a fantastic traditional place that has hams hanging from the ceiling. They do award winning paella and you can have a meat one instead of the fish.
Just off the far end of the plaza ayuntamiento down a little alley at the side of the multiplex cinema.

Hi,
I asked my boyfriend if he remembered the name of the restaurant but unfortunately he doesnt either. But half the fun was finding it :-) So I suggest you get a street guide and do some searching, just wander till you find a place that looks great and by then you should be really hungry from all the walking and it will taste even better! Goodluck and have a great time :-)
