Hi,

I am landing at Malaga airport at 5pm (in mid- July)- I am a female traveling alone and my destination is Sevilla- can I get to Sevilla from the Malaga airport before dark (by bus or train)?

Thanks much.

Don't know about buses. Theres a train that leaves Malaga (city not airport) at 19:00 which you could catch that gets into Sevilla at 21:34 and costs €16.65 one way - a taxi to the station from the airport should be no more than €15.

In that part of the world its just about dark by 21.30 though. Wouldn't worry about it however, in high summer Sevilla is just starting to wake up when the sun goes down, everywhere is busy and its perfectly safe.

Yes, it will be more lively at midnight than at the afternoon! Do not worry

I once went from Malaga airport to Seville by bus and wouldn't recommend it- especially if you have luggage. i had to to take a train from the airport to the centre, then it was at least a 10min to 20min or more minute walk to find the bus station. I can't remember exactly as it was a couple of years ago and I didn't know where I was going.

I've never taken the train between the two places though. If you take the train and end up at Seville at 2130 it's about 15 min walk to the edge of the centre and it's along a busy road with plenty of people. I think the sky will still be light enough in mid July at that time, but if you prefer, a taxi should be only a few euros if I remember correctly. More if you need to go farther in or/and cross the river.

Also agree with above posters- Seville will be busy at that time! I walk home often between 1030 and 11pm from the gym and the cafe's and bars are still busy with some kids still out and about etc.

There's a shuttle train from Malaga airport to Malaga RENFE station where you simply change platforms to take the train to Seville.
Train shuttle information.
RENFE website. (RENFE is the Spanish national rail operator.)

#4 - I don't know how it took you 10 minutes to get from the bus station to the train station - from memory they're side-by-side.
