Planning to go to Castilla y Leon in July (yes,, I know it will be hot !!). For journeys from Madrid to/from Salamanca and Leon, would the train or the bus be preferable ? Cost is not really an issue, I'm more interested in length of journey, frequency of buses/trains, number of changes (if needed). Many thanks for any advice.

hmmm..i've made the trip from madrid to salamanca a number of times, and always took the bus. the express bus was about 2 and a half hours. i took the bus just because there were several departure times, so if i missed one, another was soon around. and there were no changes, it was direct. i don't know about the train though...
