Hi
I got so excited a few weeks back when I read about La Feria de Abril (April Fair) - it sounds so brilliant. So I managed to get great flights from London (Ryan Air). However, I am having trouble finding affordable budget accommodation. I had read that prices 'can double' but I wasn't expecting to see so little available hostel beds (& that some hotels are 5x their normal prices...)

I am usually the type of traveller who just rocks up and finds something rather than pre-booking but because this festival sounds so big, I'm thinking that might not be such a good idea. What do those of you who've been or live there think????

Thanks in advance for your replies!!

Hi clairey2007,
I've been living here for a couple of years so I can't help you in the way of finding hostels as I've never used any here, but I can make a suggestion which might be of use.

There are a number of classified sites where people put up notices for accomodation etc, such as rooms in shared flats or indeed the whole flat. I've checked today and there are some notices about advertising rooms available for Feria week, but seems high prices again. If you're on your own then it might be easier to just find one room if you don't mind sharing of course. If I had spare rooms in my flat I would do this myself but alas right now I do not.

I don't know if language is a barrier for you or not, as also most of the anuncios are in Spanish as probably will be the owners. Here are some that I 've used many times when looking for rooms:

Rooms for rent at Sevilla.campus anuncios.com
Rooms for rent at Sevilla.mundoanuncio.com
http://sevilla.loquo.com/english/cat/302
http://www.habitamos.com/list/124/41/

If you don't read spanish, look for something like 'Alquilo habitación para feria'. Easier if you firefox, press Ctrl F and write feria and choose to highlight all- then you can see quickly which ones are relevant. If you're looking for a whole flat in case you're with friends/partner etc then you'll just have to backtrack a couple of links and look for Pisos en Alquiler instead.

I hope this helps and that you enjoy your time at the Feria :)

Thanks flyingDolphin,
Yep, language is a barrier - I know nothing of Spanish :)
It'll be just me, so hopefully I can squeeze in somewhere. Thanks for the links!!
Claire
