Hi, this will probably fabulously frustrating for all you experienced travellers but me and my partner are looking at trekking around the mediterranean coastline of spain (june-august), I currently have no idea where to start and planning. Also we want to camp the majority but have seen on a few forums that this can be complex, any tips. All assistance greatfully received.

Wild camping is fine with the exception of national parks where rules differ you need to check each individually. Fires are not allowed and this treated very seriously. I am not sure about stoves and likewise.
As for the time of year it is a pretty crazy plan it will be very hot only the upper north part of the med will be slightly cooler but you are still looking +30 for the majority of your walk the GR7 is the obvious path through Andalucia, but do not expect to spend too much time actually walking along the coast, it is not particularly scenic in many places.

Look for info online about the GR-92 (aka Sendero del Mediterráneo) but be aware not all the route is signed. You can find some basic info about it (a general overiew), on this web. You can find more detailed info about the part within Catalonia on this other web. For info about the part within Andalucía, this web may be someway useful...
If you don't bother to go inland, the GR7 goes from Andorra to Tarifa and you can find more info online about it than about the GR92; including detailed info like in this blog.
Regarding camping, as a general rule, wild camping is forbidden in Spain so you have to camp in places where it's explicitly allowed (most times campings). I would suggest to be opened to other sort of accommodations for nights as campings (or other areas where camping could be allowed) probably won't be available at all the places where you could need them.

Well our aim is to travel from the france/spain border to cadiz, it would appear that the med route is not strongly recommended. Any ideas? All assistance appreciated and needed. Many thanks.
it would appear that the med route is not strongly recommended.
I haven't been everywhere but i would think that most of the coast is too heavily built up and developed, with the exception of Cabo de Gata (well known for coastal hiking) and maybe the stretch between Algeciras until just before Cadiz (not the Med anymore).
I walked the Camino de Santiago in the summer...never again ;-)
And that is further north than where you would be walking........do you realise how hot it is going to be?

We realise its going to be hot, very hot, but we are both young and fit with no real targets set so we can go at a reasonably leisurely pace (one of us is Australian so used to rather warm weather, I am british...but have heard of the sun). We desperately want to walk around spain and france and those are the months when we are free to do so. Thanks for the advise though and it is appreciated and you have given me something to think about.
