Outdoorsy yoga lady moving to southern Spain...beaches and hiking?

Hi there! Last time I posted in the forums was a few years back for advice on moving to Australia. I've been in Perth and Melbourne for four years now and looking to move to Spain (digital nomad and yoga teacher here.) I'm thinking I'll do a two-three month Spanish course to refresh my Espanol (hope it's like riding a bike!) and then see where that takes me. I grew up in Santa Barbara, Calif so not into the big cities (more large town/small city) and specifically looking for laid-back places along the south coast with great hiking and pretty beaches. I've heard about Orgiva but it seems like that place for the kind of hippies who don't actually shower, ha-ha!

So far I've narrowed it down to Cadiz, Tarifa, Malaga, Almeria, Nerja, Los Alcazares and Javea. People have recommended the north of Ibiza as well, insisting it's not a crazy party place, but the reputation of the island puts me off since I'm way more into outdoor recreation than indoor boozing. Anyway, any advice would be much appreciated, I remember how helpful people on these forums are! Thanks in advance!

Moving? what about a work permit and visa?
Read about the hoops you will have to jump through to start a business, and answers to the above questions.

I do wish you'd give the fill information. What school and where are you attending? that will dictate which area to live in, no?

My choice of school will depend on the area. Theoretically I could go anywhere, which is why I would like advice on areas in the south as that would suit my lifestyle.

If you have, my dear, you know that you can only stay in the Schengen-area for 90 days out of 180. You'll need a long time visa for what you seem to want to do. Normally these kind of visas have to be applied for in one's home-country.

Yes, I do understand that. That wasn't part of my question. Or, maybe you would be more comfortable if I used the phrase "stay" rather than live. In either case, I would have appreciated it if my question had been responded to. Thank you.

All those places are are great (Except Los Alcazares too touristy and I don't know Javea.) if you have time you may need to see them for yourself first and then decide where feels good to stop/live for a while. Is it your first time to Spain? The south west is less built up on the Atlantic coast. Inland in Spain is where you will find hidden secrets and amazing landscape, rivers, lakes and mountains national parks are defiantly worth a look. If you are thinking about teaching yoga (With or without visa) then poss Tarifa. Not sure on Spanish schools but Malaga and Seville could be a starting point to look or even Cordoba.
