I will be arriving in Barcelona on a Saturday morning in October. I should be finished with customs, etc. at around 1130 hours. I am staying in the Eixample Areas, near Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes and C del Bruc. Is taking a taxi from the airport going to be very expensive? Would it be better to take the Metro? My biggest worry is that I will have to be changing from train to train AFTER a transatlantic flight and poor sleep and if I have to make all of those changes with my suitcases in tow, I will be totally exhausted by the time I get to the hotel.
I want to be able to get to the hotel and be ready to drop my stuff and got out to see and experience Barcelona.
Please help me figure out the best transport for my case. Thank you very much!!! Agato

taxi about 35-40 Euro (max) better to just get a cab; sure bus and metro only 5 - 10 Euro but you still have to get from where bus drops you off or metro station - plus prob need to change trains.

The airport bus, 5€ drops you very close to the area you give... Then you must walk a few hundred meters...Streets are flat.. Up to you... 5 - 35???? €

As the other ones said, it's up to you...
A taxi door to door will cost you around 35€.

But you could also take the Aerobus (A1) that goes directly from the airport (really easy to find) to Plaça Catalunya, just 4 blocks from your hotel: it is 5.90€ one way, or10.20€ if you take a return ticket. http://www.aerobusbcn.com/en/lines. This is a really easy walk, the sidewalk is wide and it is flat.

If you have no issue with the taxi price take the taxi, but the bus is very easy. No need for any pre-book in so decide when you arrive, depending on how you feel.

If it was me, I would get the Airport bus (Aerobus) A1 or A2 (from T1 or T2 respectively) which costs €5.90 and get off at Plaza Catalunya. Then walk to the hotel, or get a taxi from Pl. Cat. You can easy flag a taxi down, there will be hundreds and it'd probably cost an additional €5 or €6. The Aerobus runs up until about 1am and they are very frequent, so if you are for some reason delayed, there's a bit of flexibility. If you want to get creative, there's a night bus which runs - the N17 or N18 and it's a few €'s, which also terminates at Plaza Catalunya.
