Hi there. I'm looking for ideas for a beach town in Spain, not too big and with a laid back atmosphere but with enough to do in the evening and day for a fun weekend trip this summer. There will be about 15 guys but we're in our 30's & 40's, so really don't want anything too hectic. Some good food and cool bars (preferably a good live music scene?) and some beachy stuff in the daytime. I've spent lots of time in Andalusia so would prefer to avoid that but pretty flexible really. There will be around 15 of us traveling in June. And suggestions would be great and think the opposite of Benidorm! Thanks everyone. Cheers.

It is quite hard this one because there seem to be extremes in Spain, some of the Asturian beach towns could suit but then there is unpredictable weather, Llanes could be good. In Southern Catalonia you have l'Ampolla or Ametilla del Mar. To me the perfect place for this would be Cadiz in Andalusia, a mix of city and beach, great laid back bars and restaurants, good music can be found, a lovely city beach.

Thanks for the tips Richiavo, I'll look into the places you've mentioned. Cadiz sounds great and not somewhere I've been before. Cheers
Cadiz is the place! TONS going on there in the summer, and there is a 4 km long white sand beach. Mostly Spanish people visiting --- not a lot of English spoken, FYI. You stags have fun now!
