The Jerez transfer was a great link but a bummer for me, my flight gets in 1630 which means I have to wait two hours before i can get on a bus to go to Cadiz??????

and on the other tables I still could not find service from Conil to Cadiz, I suppose I just take a bus from Chiclana?
Yo could go to Jerez and take the train to Cadiz, the train station and bus station in Jerez are side by side.
Hang on my post # 12 was pretty stupid - both lines continue to Cadiz anyway. Well, you could take a taxi to Jerez and then train to Cadiz - they´re frequent and cheap.
Andalucia Express
There is also Cercanias which is a bit cheaper, and quite frequent but the timetable page on Renfe website isn´t opening at the moment.
The bus/train times between Jerez airport, Jerez and Cadiz are not convenient for you. I eventually got into the Cercanias part of the RENFE website that NavajoRug mentions above but the times are all wrong for your onward connection to Conil.
What it boils down to is that you need to catch the 18.30 Comes bus from Cadiz to Conil, the last bus of the day. I reckon you're going to have to throw some money at this problem.
The only way I can see you making that bus is to take a taxi from Jerez airport straight to Cadiz. One website (here) says that you should expect to pay around €45 for that taxi. If there are four of you, that's not too bad even if it's a lot more than using bus and/or train. At least you'll be able to get to Conil that evening.
One alternative is simply to stay that night in Jerez and travel on to Conil the next day. That way you could get your flamenco show in Jerez, which is what our local resident expert (step up Ms Rug and take a bow) recommends anyway. Again, with four of you €12 looks a fair price (no pun intended) for a taxi from the airport into Jerez, door-to-door. Jerez is really attractive and IMHO make a lovely place to stay overnight.
Oh, by the way, logisticall it makes no sense to go Conil - Seville - Tarifa. If you look at the map, you'll see why.
Tarifa is only about 45 mins onwards from Conil by bus. That bus from Cadiz to Conil goes on to Tarifa (as does the bus from Jerez to Conil). If you travel back from Conil to Seville and then to Tarifa, you're adding a lot of unnecessary travelling time.
To sum up, you need to go Jerez - Conil - Tarifa - Seville.
Tarifa - Seville bus timetable.
I´d bow but I don´t want to hear my back pop...:) Tony - you´re the voice of logic and reason as usual. Staying in Jerez for the night, not only you won´t have to worry about catching the bus, also Jerez is really worth a visit. You could have your flamenco show and do a little tapa crawl and sherry tasting. Jerez old town isn´t that big but it´s packed with interesting bars and restaurants, the food is as "authentic" as Andalucian cuisine can get and it´s cheap, even on the main walking street.

Thanks, yes I am trying to stay in Juarez a night first now, but that means pushing back our apartment reservation in Conil (they said they will get back to me).
As for Seville. Yes I kind of figured out that it made more since to go to Tarifa first, after I booked the hostel in Seville, now they are going to get back to me too...
I miss my South American days, where I didnt have to worry about booking a place ahead of time nor how this 3 week trip is going to set me back a months salary.
Thanks for tips it's starting to come together.
Off season in Spain is still like that. If you come in October there is no need to book ahead if you want to move around a lot freely, you will always find something. Unfortunately July and August here live up to the term of high season. When you have a firm date for Jerez, please let me know here or PM.
