We are a honeymoon couple wondering if anyone can offer some insight on Hostal Goya before we make reservations.
Thanks

There are good reviews on tripadvisor.
That is where I am thinking of staying in Barcelona also.

Wow. Hostal Goya is probably the best-reviewed hostel (called "hostal" in Spanish/Catalán) in all of Barcelona. Be sure to conduct a search using keywords HOSTAL GOYA BARCELONA and you should find plenty. From what I've read, Hostal Goya has been rather positively reviewed.
they've recently added 7 new rooms in the same building, calling it Hostal Goya Principal.
The location's good, very near the Plaça Catalunya. Their website doesn't mention having air conditioning - something you'll want in July and August, especially, and maybe early September too. Not sure when you're going though. They have an elevator too - useful if you have heavy luggage or lots of it. The website photos look GREAT, very very modern and stylish. And hey, you're in luck because they list (the English version) having an TV Saloon! Cool! hehehe..." Belly up to the TV, boys! What'll it be? The Andy Griffith Show in Spanish? Or maybe re-runs of Los Serranos? Name your video poison."
Have a good time in Barcelona. That's a nice destination for a honeymoon.
