Hi Guys,

I am getting married in November and have 8 days for my honeymoon. Both me and my wife to be want to goto Spain+ 1 more country nearby from 14th - 22nd November 2012

What do you guys say:

  1. Is November a good month to travel to Spain? We dont mind winter as long as its not v extreme and there is no rain :) and we both have had our share of beaches so we dont really care about missing the summer beach.

  2. Which other country could we visit. We were initially thinking of Greece, but its kinda far. How about italy? or france?

  3. Finally, please help me in preparing a itinerary for Spain, and what things are like a must do in november?

Thanks :)

There is a lot to see in Spain but we don't know what you like and don't like. Nature, art, night life, museums, architecture, shopping, food, cycling...? We don't know.

I think that a honeymoon should be relaxing so I see no need to travel to another country if you have only 8 days. But it depends on your interests.

The South of Spain is warmer and less rainy than the North of Spain. So I suggest that you start reading about Andalucia and try to determine if there is enough to see and do to fill 8 days. Also read about the climate.

Andalucia is a good choice and Portugal (so different and plenty to occupy you) is easy to reach.

A word of warning: I suggested to my wife on our honeymoon that we split it, in our case merely from a backpacker hotel to a 4* place, both in Cairo. After hardly leaving our room for the first week it didn't seem worth the hassle to move.............................LOL!

As requested, I have prepared a detailed itinerary for you:
Arrive Madrid. Spend 3-4 days.
Train to Barcleona. Spend 3-4 days. Fly home.
You could also do this in reverse if you like. Except the flying home part. Save that for last.

For further details, guidebooks to either Spain or to the individual cities would be a great help.

I can't help but wonder: if you have no idea what to do in Spain, how did you decide on it as a honeymoon destination?

For only 8 days in if you select a place close enough in southern Spain, you could consider a day trip to Morocco to scratch your second-country-itch.

I suggest you come to the south of Spain, Andalucía.
Sevilla is a beautiful city and its only an hours drive (or train ride) away from beautiful beaches in Huelva or Cadiz.
You could also spend some time in Granada and see the Alambra.

You could then travel across to Portugal and spend some time in the Algarve.
Its only about 3 hours drive from Sevilla.

In November it won't be super hot, but it is usually sunny, blue sky every day and warm enough to go for walks and see the tourist sites. Its often possible to sit outside in a restaurant if you wear a coat or a jumper.

I would focus on Andalucia, the best part of Spain, especially at this time of the year!
