Hiking to Cadaques....and a week in Malaga

Granada is not really a day trip from Malaga. You can do it, but its 4 hours round trip, and there's far, far more to do and see in Granada than in Malaga. Plus, if you go to the Alhambra in the middle of the day a large part of the magic is lost on you because you have to buy a time slot, and during the day there's a lot of tourists. The best time is the first entry at 8:00AM or 8:30AM. The next best time is a night visit.

A better plan would be to fly in to Malaga, take train to Granada same day, enjoy Granada, hike around Sierra Nevada, then travel down to the coast, somewhere like Nerja.

The Caminito del Rey hike has been re-built and is no longer a via ferrata anyway. It is a very sanitized experience now.

EDIT: maybe I was a little bit too negative. Caminito del Rey is still interesting. Its just that my idea of a hike is venturing out there, not something I book in advance and pay an entry ticket to. I also hate the fact that bureaucrats destroyed an absolutely incredible, jaw-dropping via ferrata that had no equals in Spain in order to turn it into a sanitized mass tourism attraction they can charge everyone €10 for.

Thanks for the advice on Alhambra. I was there years ago at sunset and it was beautiful. But I do remember the droves of people alright.

I heard you have to book Caminito del Rey....that's bananas. But I think we will do it anyway - the photos online look amazing.

The hiking to Cadaques should be very straightforward since that stretch is apart of the GR92 and will be well signposted. And you have the sea to help your orientation.

If you want to visit the Dali House in Port Lligat, don't forget to reserve a time slot. Highly recommended.
You can also stay an extra night in Cadaques and visit the Dali Museum in Figueres on your way to Barcelona. Cadaques is such a nice place to be for a couple of days :)

Do you or anyone have a link to the path from Llanca or Port de la Selva to Cadaques ? I know it's impoosible to get lost but I like maps!!
