Hello World Travellers,

I've read conflicting opinions about the Granada City Pass on this forum and others. Has anyone purchased it within the past 2 years and could share their thoughts about its pros and any cons?

When I look at the tourist attractions it can be applied to and bus trips I believe my husband and I would make use for all the discounts offered. Yet I've heard others say they didn't bother getting it or that they did purchase it and didn't think it was a good value.

Thanks in advance for sharing your insights and personal experiences. :-)

I would be surprised if you needed buses. The main sights are fairly close together, and/or not on bus routes anyway. So this boils down to whether you think you're likely to visit all the museums covered by the city pass in the time you're in Granada, and working out the difference in price from individually purchased tickets. You should allow most of a day for the Alhambra and the Generalife, and you should buy a timed ticket in advance whatever you decide.

Depending on your mobility and entry time, Alhambra is up the hill, and there is a bus that will take you there and back if needed. We were running late, so we took the bus up to save time and walked down. Never used any buses for the rest of the stay.

Thanks Thomajd! I appreciate such a fast answer. We're fine with walking but weren't sure how close or far everything is. But it looks like a small city or large town as I read someone describing Granada. Thank you I'll look over the other attractions offered and see if the discount is worth it. We plan to be in Granada for at least 4 nights. Possibly 5. Cheers!

Thanks Olive! We're always running late when we're on vacation but I'll keep the time and terrain in mind while we're in Spain. We plan to be in Granada longer than our other stops. I'll just add up the prices of the museums and entry for the Alhambra to see if the City Pass is worth it. Knock on wood - we're both fine with mobility and enjoy walking and hiking. Thank you for taking the time to answer my question. :-)

Four or five nights in Granada sounds like a long time. Two full days would be enough to see the main sights.

Disagree with thomajd - we spent a week there and still did not cover everything we would like to have done/see - so to say 2 full days is enough is not accurate; so easy to spend 4-5 nights. As far as a pass, we didn't bother as we walked to a lot of sites and places we wanted to go. We caught local bus up to Alhambra and walked back down, also caught local bus up hill (Albaicin) and walked back down so only 2 buses in a week, thus pass not worth it as far as the urban bus trips concerned.
