So we are going to be in Barcelona between Aug 25 and Sep 05. My son is a big fan of the Barca team, and we were hoping to catch a game at the Camp Nou. Well, they just published the La Liga schedule today, and unfortunately, there is no Barca home game while we are there. Any suggestions/options for what would be a good substitute? I can think of the following:
1. Catch the Espanyol game - there is one on Aug 28. Not quite Barca/Camp Nou though.
2. Is it possible to view practice sessions for the Barca team?
3. Are visits to La Masia allowed? Are there any tours?

Anything else anyone can suggest?

I've never seen Espanyol play so no idea if it would be a good game - however its still a Barcelona football game so better than nothing; I suggest you email or phone Barca FC re practice sessions and La Masia, can't hurt to ask.

Barca FC playing away Athletic Bilboa on 28 August - its a 6 hr train ride - you can get a 9am train and be there before kick off, then either sty over nite or get nite train back. So its doable.

Can't see anything on your link about football?

The last alternative is to find a Barcelona pub/taberna with a good TV set and watch the away game with the locals. Not as good as being there, but your son can soak up some of the essential football fever.
