Hi

I'm looking for a really cheap way of travelling from Madrid to Sevilla.

Does anyone know of/can recommend a car-sharing service in Spain, for example, something like mitfahrgelegenheit in Germany?

Hitch-hiking - what's it like in Spain? how realistic is it?

Thanks in advance people!

Meyrick

I've never heard of car sharing here - that doesn't mean it doesn't exist of course :) Hitch hiking isn't very realistic on route from Madrid to Seville. It's fine in small towns and villages, people are much more weary of strangers standing on the side of the road in bigger cities/on highways. If you "look like a backpacker" you might get lucky but it's not a very reliable way of getting from A to B.

I know the AVE is expensive, but what is your time worth? We were in Spain 2 weeks ago and took the train from Sevilla to Cordoba, spent the day sight seeing then hopped back on the train to Madrid. 2 adults and a child was 175 euros.

Is not the bus the cheapest form of public transport in Spain?
As for hitch hiking, we have not seen much of that either. So maybe it is not teh best way to travel.
