Car rental in Ronda

Have you ever gotten my answer by PM? my PM box works selectively I am afraid. If not I'll resend it. All of the options above sound equal to me, to be honest. Ronda will have small rental companies, if you want to secure a car on line I'd say Algeciras might be easier.

What have you found so far by doing your own web search? Car hire rates are not something that most people have at their fingertips so they'd have to do the same kind of search that you'd have done. What have you turned up so far?

I'm afraid Tony is right, Greenmango - you're panicking a bit instead of researching calmly as your latest threads seem to indicate. I found the above link in about 2 seconds.

In fact I've done PLENTY of research. Over-research is my problem!! I still haven't been able to find a rental place that will let me pick up in, say Tarifa or Alg, and drop off on Ronda.

I'm just not used to travelling this way... usually I just book a flight, show up and let the path before me open up... but now I'm doing the 2-week a year thing and I feel pressured to make sure I've got everything just right. And coming from Canada I'm not just a 20-euro flight away and likely won't be back for a long time, if ever. On one hand I want to book in advance (hotels, transport, etc) to get avail at the best/popular hotels. On the other I want to be more spontaneous and spend shoter/longer in a place if it suits us but I'm worried about the all the rooms being booked... I guess if this is my biggest problem these days, I'm in good shape.

I suggest that you take the train from Algeciras to Ronda - it's relaxing and beautiful, much better than doing it by car. I've lost track of all your threads (I wish you wouldn't start a new thread every time a new thought comes into your head) but I think I gave you the link to the train timetables elsewhere. Then, when you get to Ronda, just hire a car from one of these companies. The tourist office in Ronda will be able to help you.

I would book accommodation in advance - being spontaneous is great when you have a month, but 2 weeks is tight and good hotels are always busy. What's your current itinerary? You should be able to find a rental you can drop off in Ronda. It's late now but I'll get back with you tomorrow. Have you ever received my PM then - the response to your question of couple of weeks ago?

And, no, don't bother to drive from Ronda to Granada - just take the train.

It would help if we knew your current itinerary - as Tony says train is easier, however pueblos blancos are done easier by car. Could you post the final plan for your trip?
