I know! So extreme

In August, basically 75% of Spain is off work. Everyone inland goes to places without a lot of foreign tourists and less heat. That would be the whole northern coast. So yes, avoid the beaches and go inland. yet, you are still going to pay at least double of what is normally paid there. All of Madrid and surroundings is having their holiday there right now.
