Here in southwestern France, everyone complained about the heat and lack of rain all spring. There has been a fair amount of rain and cool temperatures (around 20-23) most of July but only one thunderstorm. Of course, this led to lots of complaints about the weather again.

But the weather is supposed to warm up starting today so people will just have to find another subject to bitch about.

There's going to be a thunderstorm this weekend, you'll be happy to know.

It could be worse, it could be the other kind of summer in BCN that we seem to be getting over the recent years which is no rain, extremely hot, and unrelenting humidity.

I don't care what the weather will be in Barcelona over the next few weeks. Just to be able to go on holidays in Spain that just makes me happy. Viva espana!

@tony_b - 7 days in Barcelona from 18th Aug. So I might run into a bit of bad weather..bah humbug..don't care ;-)
3-4 days in Bilbao / San Sebastian after than and then I'll pop down to Andalucia - probably base self in Seville for 7-10 days as I try to do the Cordoba, Malaga, Cadiz loop (will be in your neck of the woods I think - seeing los pueblos blancos , Ronda). Also hoping to do El Alhambra in Granada but will wait and see how much time I have (or how lazy I am LoL)

Any good tips, just PM me. thanks heaps.

@PhiMeow. Depending on the dates you will be in the Ronda area, I should be around and be able to help with tips, including suggestions for accommodation. Send me a PM with the dates that you think you will be here, your interests and let´s see how it goes.

PhiMeow, man, don't even think of going to Andalucia and missing Granada. I would say it's almost the main point of being in that part of the world. Screw Malaga unless you like Little Britain Under The Sun and spend 2 days in Sevilla, one in Cordoba and the rest of the time in Granada. It's one of the most beautiful cities in Spain (not just La Alhambra, but the whole Old City around Albahicin and the surrounding villages of Las Alpujarras) and it's also got the best tapas in Spain (apart from San Sebastian, but in Granada they are massive and they are free). Cadiz, Malaga...unless you want to go to secluded hippy beaches like Canos de Meca there's little point going there...

From what El Pais newspaper says, it's been pretty shitty all over Europe so far, including Italy. But weatherunderground will have better info.
