Hi everyone,

So I've booked a 3 day trip to Barcelona in mid Feb. As I it will be my first time to Barcelona was wondering if anyone could give some tips/recommendations on where to go and what to expect.

I have a few ideas - Las Ramblas, la sagrada famalia, park guell, camp nao... just not sure of what else there is to do..

Thanks

Hannah

Hi Hannah,
You can start by checking out the online LP guide to the city:
https://www.lonelyplanet.com/spain/Barcelona
and here's a link to the office tourism site
http://www.barcelonaturisme.com/wv3/en/
If you had special interests you could share with the forum members you might get specific replies. There have been so many threads with questions asked and answered, if you'd like to look at those, use the Search function--top of page left, just below Home.
But looking at the two referenced above may give you specific questions to ask, also...
Good luck!

You just need to spend some time with a guidebook. There's no real substitute.

..or google. www.barcelonayellow.com has for example a page dedicated to "highlights".

There is more than enough to do in Barcelona to fill 5 days, so you won´t be bored. Days are short in February as well.

There is nothing on Las Ramblas except other tourists

Dogma is dangerous

Don't miss Mercado de La Boqueria, just off to one side.

#4 you are forgetting about the massively overpriced pitchers of sangria!

I'd highly recommend free walking tours with Runner Bean. An excellent way to get familiar with the city. I went on 2 of them (reserved my spot in advance) - one for La Sagrada Familia and one for Gaudi. You just pay them what you think is fair. Keep in mind you don't actually go into any of the exhibits while on the free walking tour. I returned to La Sagrada Familia on my own the next day having booked tickets online because I didn't want to wait in the ticket line.

La Ramblas is full of tourists but it's worth it to take a little stroll. Be aware of pickpockets!

Here my travel blog for my solo trip to Spain - Barcelona is one of the cities I visited. I've posted pictures, my itinerary, and recommendations.

Enjoy trip planning!
