My wife and i are looking for a double room in the budget price which is in a good location, clean, not too noisy for both Madrid and Barcelona. Hostels or backpackers are fine.

Hi, i haven't stayed there yet but I booked this place during August for me and my partner:
Apartments in Barcelona Tiradors, Carrer Tiradors nº 1.
I booked it through hostelworld.com, where it got a good rating. It's not the most budget (you might be able to negotiate a better price via email though) but it looks great, and has kitchen and laundry facilities. On the map it seems to be about a km from Las Ramblas and very close to the Parc de la Ciutadella. I'd love to hear from anyone that's stayed there too. Hope that helps.
