Hi everyone

I would love some help and suggestions.

I'm travelling to Portugal for one week in August with my husband and daughter who will be 11-months old. We will be spending 3 nights in Lisbon at a conference and then have three nights to explore elsewhere. I was originally thinking we'd go to Lagos in the Algarve but I'm having trouble figuring out the train schedule/stations. It looks like it may be a 3 or 4 hour trip? Does that sound correct? If we were to fly from Lisbon, what…

I'll be in the north of Portugal (Minho) between the 15th and the 23rd of August.
I'm looking for running races between 9 and 20 km. It can be very small or big organisations, it doesn't matter as long as it is open to everybody and not too far from Viano do Castello (up to 70 km)
Do such events exist?
I googled for it but did not find any good up to date site.
Thanks in advance.

Hi.
We're going to Portugal soon for a 10 day trip. We want to buy a SIM card there so we can save money by not having to pay for incoming calls and make cheaper local calls. Any good 'pay as you go' deals to be had with a Portuguese mobile phone provider? Thank for all info.

Hello,

We are 2 girlfriends from Belgium and we would like to visit Portugal. We catched cheap flights from Brussels to Faro (we arrive 4 august 2010 at noon) and from Faro to Brussels ( we leave 11 august 2010 very early in the morning). We would like to see as much as possible. We don’t like to rest on the beach all day long but we love culture, visiting and walking or bicycling in the nature (if possible with less tourists) and this as cheap as possible.

This is our plan:

Hi all,

My husband and I would really like to visit Portugal for our beach holiday this year as we haven't been there before. We plan to go in September, but are worried about the weather. Is it likely to still be hot in the eastern Algarve then? I fancy lying on the beach and not doing much else and the Tavira area looks very relaxing and not too touristy (ie. we don't want a huge resort). Does it get quite windy at that time of year?

Many thanks

Mel

Hello all,

We're planning a two week trip to Portugal in July/Aug and are having a hard time deciding between staying in Portugal for the two weeks, focusing Lisbon and south, or trying to do both Portugal, and make our way to Gibraltar. Any thoughts or comments would be welcome!

Cheers,

Hi all,

I want to learn Portugese (European) and after my language course in UK hope to find a job in Lisbon November on. So I need safe accommodation (am over 50 but fit). Any ideas? PS my job is in palliative care but having spent many years specialising in this, I am open to non NHS work

Thanks, Jenny

Hi all,

I've booked a very cheap ticket to Faro. We will stay 18 days and want to camp. Now I've been reading about touristic Algarve- and I'm not really into very touristic. We travel in September.

Could anyone please give some suggestions on what to do, where to go and what's nice to see? Also, how are experiences with campsites, does anyone have nice suggestions?

Thanks for your help in advance!

Hi all!

I am planning to go to the Algarve for 7 nights in August and wanted some advise on the best places to stay / go while im there. (I'm flying from L-Luton-Faro)

I am going with one other person who would like to spend 3 or so days relaxing on the beach. But for the other days I'd like to travel around and see some of the other places in the algarve - perhaps some nice moorish villages inland, or places like sagres.

In terms of the location of where I'd like to stay I would like a…

My sister and I are planning a trip around New Year's and I was thinking about Portugal. We have about a week, and so I figured we would be based in Lisbon and branch out from there.

A couple of questions:

-- What's a ballpark figure in US$ to expect to pay for a week? We would be looking to go cheap (i.e. hostels and such), but we would want to really take advantage of what Portugal has to offer.

-- How's the weather in early January? Temperature-wise, it seems fine, but is it overly…
