Hi,

I will be traveling with two friends from Faro to Lisbon over May 9-May 14. We are undecided as to whether we should rent a car or use buses/trains etc. It seems like a car may be more convenient? Also, I am looking for input on interesting/fun towns to stop in or places to go. We really just have the 5 days to kind of wander up back to Lisbon for our flight out. We are young (late 20s-early 30s) and enjoy outdoors activities (we've heard there's some good hiking?), good food and bar…

Hello!
I would be grateful for suggestions on how to find a flat for long-term stay in Lisbon (6-8 months, starting from October or November). Any websites you can recommend? It can be in Portuguese, I can read it even if I don't speak the language.

We are a couple in mid-thirties, looking for an independent flat - something inexpensive but with reasonable quality and within easy reach of public transport. What are average rents for this sort of places?

Many thanks in advance!

Me and my girlfriend have ten days in Portugal at the end of September, without a car.

We were thinking of spending at least 4 full days in Lisbon, which we fly into, to explore the city (one day), visit Sintra (one day) and go to the beaches (Cascais? Ericeira?).

At the other end of the trip, we were planning on two full days in Porto (which we fly out of).

The other 4 days I'm not sure what we should do - we could go south to the Algarve, though it's out of the way, or stop in a couple of…

Hello
We are two Canadians headed to this part of the world in the end of May 2013. Due to procrastination, I now realize that we are going to be flying to/from Paris because it is so much cheaper to do so, and isn't really such a bad thing.

This leaves us 23 days and the decision of whether to fly to/from somewhere specific Ie) Lisbon, or Madrid or Barcelona etc. or... To start in one place and end in another.

Our plan is to do a lot of walking around, in towns and parks, and to eat/drink…

I am trying to finalize an itinerary for a family of 6 for 7 days in Portugal (parents @ 4 adult kids). We will start in Lisbon on May 18th, and would like to see Porto and the Algarve (Salema) before driving to Sevilla on the 25th of May. Any suggestions for how to make this work with a rented mini-van, and how long to stay in each place? Is it possible/wise?
Thanks very much for any input! I'm finding this itinerary to be quite challenging to sort out, given the distances between the three…

Hello everyone,

My boyfriend and I are going to Portugal this summer (July 13-27) to celebrate my 30th birthday. We love food, wine and exploring the culture of different cities. Living like the locals as they say! (Though, we do, too, like a little luxury here and there :)

We waited too long to book our direct flights from Montreal to Lisbon, so we may have to fly directly to Barcelona (or another city) before making it to Portugal.

I am reading mixed recommendations about where to begin…

It seems Balaia-Sol Apartments are closed during winter. Anyone knows when will it open for this year season? Thanks.

Hi there,

Me and my girlfriend are planning to go to Portugal for about 9 nights from 26/27 Sept to 6 Oct. I was wondering:

a) whether it will be hot enough at this time of year to go on the beach

b) whether we'd be better flying into Porto and out of Lisbon, or into Lisbon and out of Porto? We are planning a rough itinerary of places between these two cities and day trips from them.

Thanks!

Hey guys. Just want to ask whether it is a good idea to take a plane that lands at Porto airport at 11.30pm. I am a 20-year-old girl traveling alone, and I have been to plenty of "not-so-safe" places by myself like naples, marseilles and brussels, and I know there can be danger anywhere any time, but I still want to play safe. Is the way from the airport to the city center safe at night? how long does the journey take? is the airport a reasonably "busy" one? coz if i have other fellow travelers…
