Hi,

I am looking to Travel from Porto to Lisbon to Sasimbra to Setubal to Lagos to Albufeira to Faro within about a month of one another, and was wondering how long to stay in each of these cities/towns. If anyone has any good advice for me that would be great. I am trying to plan a year long trip around Europe, and if I can get some good time spent in Portugal that would be great. If it's perhaps best not to spend more than 3 weeks here then at least I'll have found out rather than wasting my time with staying there for twice as long as I need to!

Cheers guys, hopefully I'll hear from someone soon.

hmm, it is a little difficult to give you some good advice if we do not know your interests or what you would do instead if not staying in Portugal...

However, I like Portugal a lot, it is one of my favourite destinations in Europe. A week in Lisbon is easily filled and travelling through the country can fill 3 more weeks withour problems. I would inlcude Evora in your itinerary...

Have fun

You could probably shorten your trip to three weeks if you don't want to spend time doing day trips from any of the major cities you visit. Porto only takes a few days to see, and Lisbon can be done in less than a week (although Sintra is a must for a day trip from Lisbon).

Faro doesn't have much to see, so it won't take too long unless you want to go to Tavira or the Parque Natural da Ria Formosa for a day.
