Hi,

Does nayone know if it is possible to stay in a HI hostel in Portugal as a non-member (conflicting information between websites). If so does anyone know the supplment you pay? Trying to work out whether its worth buying the card here in the UK £15.50 for around 4 nights in HI hostels.

Cheers

Thanks, but not there nor on the previous thread is an amount mentioned only 'a small supplement'. I'm trying to find out how much that supplement it. small could be 50c or €5. This is what I'm asking. Also the HI website which you dirtected me to, which is also where I've found information refers to being able to pay a supplement. However the Portugal HI pages (which I now can't find) says you must be a member to stay in these hostels - hence the request for clarification.

Thanks

Not sure specifically about Portugese HI, but it's usually around €5 per night. If I was staying four nights in a HI hostel I would get the card as you may want to use it elsewhere.

#2,3 You're right, apologize.
But small amount is: you'll need fvive stamps (= about 3 euro per stamp) to çollect' enough for a card, that's what I invented in some countries, not specifically Portugal.
