Hey everyone!
We were in Portugal last year and loved it so much we were thinking of going back this year for New Year's.
Any recommendations for places to stay and things to do in Oporto on New Year's Eve?
TIA,
Fianna

My suggestion is that you email (or phone) one of the many hotels in Porto asking about their Reveillon programs. You'll certainly find one that does not include accommodation. Try Porto Palacio, Sheraton... Also try to find out if any of the Port Wine cellars is organizing a party. Two years ago I celebrated New Year in Croft and it was great.
there are also restaurants with good programs. The ones in Cais de Gaia should be a good option as you're close to the river (where the fireworks are).
Have fun

HI!
I Live in Oporto and my favorite place to enjoy my last night of the year is at Sheraton Porto Hotel & Spa.
Last year they had 3 diferent reveillons: One at the main ballroom (themed party: James Bond), another more intimist and calm at the Porto Novo Restaurant; and another at the bar New Yorker Lounge.
This year i think the themed party will be New York New York, by frank sinatra, and everything and the decorations will be inspired by the glamour of NY.
Just give them a call or send them an e-mail and asking for their menus, prices and accomodation offers.

Hi,
A friend of mine once stayed in a flat. It's cheaper than a Hotel during festivities.
If you wish you can have a look at www.flatinporto.com That's where she rented it.
