I am going to spend one night in Lisbon, Friday to Saturday, due to some work on the Friday. Then I have all of Friday evening and night to myself...

I have been to Lisbon long ago, great place, I like the restaurants and the Barrio Alto. But as I am on my own this time, I feel a bit weird hanging out. Any advice on restaurants / bars / places where a person alone might not feel weird ? I mean, asking a table for one at a restaurant, you know, it can feel weird... Same if I hang around the bars in Barrio Alto.

Hi
I know exactly the feeling because I travel by my own alot.
If you like Bairro Alto you can try the restaurante "Bota Alta". It is Portuguese food, the place is nice and since they have lots of turists you will not feel "so strange". If you go for this you must reserve a place because during summer time they are always full.
Hope this helps, If you need I can get you the phone number for the restaurant

There's a place down the hill from Alfama by Santa Apolonia Station and the riverfront known as "Doca do Jardim do Tabaco" which is a series of former warehouses converted into restaurants and shops (not to be confused with the older and perhaps better known Docas de Santo Amaro).
It has two places where eating alone should not feel too weird. I'd go for the excellent oven-baked pizzas at Casanova or the pastas or salads at Deli Delux.
The Go Lisbon website will give you more information about these places as well as other ideas for your brief stay in the city.
Have a good time!

Hi!
I don't know if you have already been to Lisbon but I can give you a very good website where you can download for free a guide with a daily calendar about all what is going on in the city: concerts, nightlife, arts and so on...!!

I also suggest you to go to the Bairro Alto, in rua do Norte there are lot of good bars like "Soft" or "Bedroom"!
