Hello,
Me and my retired mum are going to spend 4 full days in Lisbon early June. I've read that the locals rent their rooms like in Asia for tourists. I'm looking for a budget place with or shared bathroom, rooms up to 30 euros per night per person. We both are insomnia so a quiet place but not far from the public transport, restaurants.

If you don't know, which area is the best to stay for usual tourists who do sightseeing, use public transport, like food.

Many thanks for your help

I can't recommend any rooms "like in Asia". €30 is very optimistic. Not sure you can get it at that price.
The place where I used to stay was Pensão Nova Goa. it's good location and decent price.

I don't know what is the "best area" to stay for usual tourists, but i guess most tourists stay near the center or downtown. Search online for sites like Housetrip, bquarto, easyquarto, casa.trovit (sorry for the pub) and search rooms for rent. There are plenty of them.

Bear in mind the prices might be too high in the next few days because of the Champions League Final..

And don't worry about public transport and restaurants,. All areas of the city have restaurants around the corner and at least one bus stop.

Many cheap guesthouses in Lisbon are listed on booking.com - just enter your dates, select according to price and read reviews of a place before you book.

Try AirBnB. The places are mostly self-catering rather than guesthouse, but they are cheap and there are loads of amazing places in Lisbon. We stayed in an apartment near the castle which could sleep 5 people and was only around EUR 80 a night - so for a place that sleeps two you should be able to get one quite cheap.
