Hi,
i will be in Porto early Nov and planning to stay in Lisbon one night. I just wonder if i can visit those places start at 0830 till 1700 covering:
1) Lisbon tram# 28 (how long it takes), then proceed to
2) To Torre de Belem & surroundings by Tram# 15, then
3) To Sintra (de Sintra & Pena) before heading back to Rossio station and Lisbon airport

Can it be done and what is the best trip arrangement/ logistics flow you would recommend? As well as estimate cost incurred?

Thanks for the help.

If you can't stay long enough to look around, why go?

Am I right that you mean to see all those places from 8:30 to 17:00 of one day? You need a full day in Sintra if you want to see both the main palaces and possibly the Moorish castle. Belem takes between half and 3/4 of a day to see the main sites.

The 18 tram takes around 20-30 min (it is quite slow and also uncomfortable if you don't have a seat). If it is full you won't see much if you are standing up.

Skip Sintra

Walk around Baixa and Alfama in the morning.
If you have time left go to Belem in the afternoon.

Don't expect to get more than a first impression of the city.

Are you planning to leave these places at 17, to leave Lisboa center at 17, last check-in in airport at 17, fligt departure at 17?
The first 2 gives you SOME possibilities, but not both, except if you rent a taxi for the day or things like that.
The last 2: make a morning trip to Belem. See a single thing like the tower and back (to collect your luggage?)

Agree with the others. Leave Sintra for another trip and concentrate on seeing a bit of Lisbon.

Sintra has lots of palaces. And in mountain wonderland.
it deserverves its own trip. Taking time you have then.

I used it as a base for six days.

1) what if i extend another day . 1 day for Lisbon city tour + Belem and another day for Sintra? Arriving morning on Day1, staying one night and whole day on Day2 before flying back to Proto at 1800hrs.

2) Other than this, possible to visit the following places :
## alcobaca and batalha (purely visiting hours after i reach there: 4 hours) on Day3
## tomar (visiting hours: 2 hours) on Day4
## coimbra (visiting hours: 2 hours) on Day 4
i'm be staying in Braga and will depart by train from Braga to Valado & Tomar.

thanks :)

You can't do Sintra in a day, and do it justice.

If you're flying back to Porto at 18h00 you will not be getting a full day in Sintra as you'll have to leave at 15h00 if not earlier. You'll get a quick feel for the place, but nothing more.

What is the point in visiting somewhere like Coimbra for 2 hours? Just to say you've been there? You might as well just use Google streetview!
