lots of good hostels in Lisbon

I stayed at the oasis hostel two weeks ago; loved it. but they do have a bar in their patio, though I found it more a great meeting new people atmosphere than a nutty party atmosphere.
Friends of mine recommended the travelhouse

what do you mean by mixed showers? most hostels (including the oasis) have shared bathrooms that are used by girls and guys alike, but it's only a question of who is going to shower before and after you, they don't have those big shower areas, where you have to stare at other naked people...

Hostal Esperanca is a simple and cheap hostal, that offers private bathrooms.

thanks for that I'd heard that at the poets they had non partioned showers so you could see men and women naked which is not my cup of tea. Think private bathroom might be a btter option so will try out other suggestion. Cheers.

I stayed in Oasis 2 years ago and loved it! I remember it being very central, clean and a great place to meet people! Bathrooms were co-ed but all had doors and were private. Would definitely recommend it!

My girlfriend and I originally stayed 3 nights in Lisbon in a rented apartment in the Baixa neighborhood, then decided to extend our stay an extra night and stayed at the Lisbon Lounge Hostel. Loved the hostel. Wish we had found it before the apartment.

Shared bathrooms, but it has private showers (curtains). Very clean and central to everything.

2 years ago we found the HI Hostel Lisbon Centre at Rua Andrade Corvo excellent without being noisy. The shared bathrooms were very private indeed although I don't remember if they were for both males and females; didn't recall seeing any one of opposite sex in the bathrooms I used in the 3 days I was there.

Lisbon Lounge was nice. Very clean.
