Hi everyone :)
In May I'll be for a week in Lisbon and I'm really excited about it :) Jus started looking for places to see and things to do while there :) On my trips I buy lots of food souvenirs so this time it won't be different :) Any suggestions?I already read about some Serra da Estrela cheese and Pasteis de Belem :)
-Presunto, especially Chaves brands. It's dry cured ham, like Italian prosciutto and Spanish serrano.
-Queijo curado - cured cheese, usually from goat or sheep milk.
-marinated olives
-of course wines (and port wine)
from my experience the Pasteis de Belem don't make great souvenirs: they're best when the pastry is still crispy and the custard warm - once you've tried them fresh, old and soggy pasteis will give you your personal saudade...
on the SW corner of the Praca da Figueira is a classical confectioner called 'Confeitoria Nacional' - plenty of more 'durable' pastries, marzipan etc.

The wonderful tin cans of fish from the famous "Conserveira de Lisboa" shop are a must. You may also get products from the Azores at "Espaço Açores" nearby. This may be helpful: A Gourmet Basket from Lisbon
