English language used book store in Lisbonne

Can't help you with the bookstore question, but it's Lisbon NOT Lisbonne in English.

I've spent several long periods in Lisbon and have never seen a secondhand bookshop with more than one or two English language books.
The best place for NEW English copies, is FNAC. There is a branch of this in the Chiado Shopping Centre, Rua de Carmo, more or less behind the Elevador Santa Justa. They have a section for books in English.

In Cascais (45 mins by train) there is a used bookshop that sells English books. Not sure of the name of the road but it's next to Santini gelataria (yummy ice creams) and about 3 mins walk from the station.

Thank you for all your replies ....especially the Cascais tip ..icecream and books sounds irresistible.Near Cais de Sodre I also found an interesting small 'livraria bateira' in the rua Nova da Trinidade nr 16:He has a small section of english and french books and a better choice than Fnac also about 3 € a book....sorry for spelling mistake as I speak three languages I sometimes get the spelling mixed ...plus I am presently trying to say a few words in Portuguese so it gets a bit muddled up....thanks again and best wishes

The livraria Bertrand in Chiado ( near Rossio square) has a section of english books at the rear end of the shop. Just ask at the entrance.
The bookshop with used books in Cascais is 5 minutes walk from the train station. Ask for the "gelataria santini". Next to it the books are standing outside an inside waiting for buyers.
Or just look in front towards your right side when you go out of the station for the Mac Donald's in the corner of 2 streets. Take the street right of the MacDonalds.
