I'm looking at a really appealing hotel-flight package in Punta Delgada for April. It's for six days. Is there enough to do on the islands to keep a single guy in his mid-30s busy for that long? I'm not into clubs any more - more about restaurants and sightseeing and meeting people (I can speak conversational Portuguese). I'll be mostly interested in unwinding, as this will be at the end of a several-month project where I've been working way too hard. Good place to do some bicycling?

Yes! Go for it. There's easily enough to do on São Miguel to keep you occupied for 6 days. Ponta Delgada isn't a large town, but it's the administrative capital of the islands and has a wide range of amenities. Don't miss a visit to the lakes of Sete Cidades.
