Netherlands

The little city of Nijmegen in southern Netherlands looks lively and appealing, but I haven't been able to turn up any hostels or other cheap or alternative lodging there, although it is a university town. There doesn't seem to be a StayOkay (though there probably is one fairly close by). Any ideas? I'm thinking of spending a couple of days there next time I'm in Netherlands. Other ideas welcome as well.

me and a freind (both female) are heading to the dam on the 5th with no plans as to wat to see and do- we are going for the obvious- sex and drugs!!! does anyone have any ideas as to where to go to meet like minded ppl!!?? we have accomodation booked and we are looking to keep things within a budget of about £200 is that realistic!!??

I'm going to be in Amsterdam between December 5 and 8 and was wondering where the best places were to meet people in their late 20's and 30's? Not into the clubbing scene, so was wondering if there were any good bars/cafes that appeal to this age group?

My husband and I are trying to plan a trip to the Netherlands this spring with our 18 mo. old. We are hoping to housesit somewhere outside of Amsterdam. Utrecht would be ideal. But Zwolle would be nice too.

Any suggestions on how we go about this? We would be willing to pay for our stay but of course the freer the better! :) I have been trying to take my husband to Europe for 8 years now! I just want him to expieriance it so badly! I love it there!

I'm living in Amsterdam and I need to buy a hookah pipe + flavoured shisha/hookah tobacco to take home when I visit my parents in a couple of weeks. I've checked the Head Shops and all the pipes seem overpriced and a bit tacky (covered in hash leaves, that type of thing).

We have a huge Middle Eastern community here so they must sell nice pipes someplace - I was going to check around Albert Cuyp and out towards the West of the city, can anyone recommend a store so I don't have to…

I have arrived one week ago to Amsterdam to live here for 1 year. I feel here a little bit lonely as I do not anybody yet to hang out with. Could your recommend me some forum to find new friends probably foreigners living here as well? Where to go to make friends in Amsterdam? And how are the Dutch towards the foreigners? I have heard that it is quite difficult to find Dutch friends here as they are not so open to friendship with foreigners...

I am planning to move to utrecht in end or Dec or early Jan to finish my studies, i have only a month to complete but would then like to stay and find work etc..... thus i am looking for a place to stay.
