I've always loved cycling, albeit it's always been in an urban setting.
The last time I was in Holland, I was on a train from Amsterdam to Brussels and I recall seeing cyclist in the middle of cow fields on perfectly paved flat roads. It looked like the most ideal cycling trip and I'm smitten to doing it myself next month.

Does any one have experience with this and have any tips on tours, gear, duration, etc. to share - anything would be much appreciated!!

I will be living in the Netherlands for a few months and I do need bike especially folding bike since this bike could be taken on the train for free.

I have some options to get the folding bike.

First, Buy the bike from an online bike shop from UK that's cheap and there's no VAT or Import tax as informed to me by some friends
Second, to bring the folding bike from Indonesia or Kuala Lumpur

My question is if I decide to bring a folding bike using KLM airline, how much does it cost? Anyone…

I'm trying to buy tickets online on euro railways or highspeed sites for traveling with train from Brugge to Maastricht and from Maastricht back to Amsterdam - but it's not allowing me to buy tickets wiht non european credit card.

Will it be ok to just buy tickets at the station while we're there?

I plan to stay in or near Den Haag for three nights in August. I'd like to split my time between the coast and seeing some of the city. From what I've read Schevingen is about 15 minutes on public transport from the centre of Den Haag, but I'm not sure whether it would be best to stay in Schevingen and travel into the city or the other way around. I will be in Utrecht for a couple weeks to study and I would like to go to other cities like Den Haag, Maastricht and visit the windmills in Kinderdijk on weekends. I have been searching on the web for options and the train is extremely expensive (about 40€ for a 2hr roundtrip to Maastricht), i haven't been able to find buses between the cities I want to go.
