Please give advice to me

Hi and welcome to the forum. May I suggest to read a few guidebooks about the Netherlands and Rome and later come back with specific questions? Or use the Search window in the upper right hand corner in order to get instant access to heaps of answers.

As a_p says, the only possible advice at this stage is to do some research.

What are your interests? What time of year? For how long? How will you travel, public transport or rented car? What is your budget, luxury hotel or park bench or anything in between? These are only a few of the questions that you need to answer before anyone can give you specific advice.

The above posters are quite right but... I suspect some Dutch regulars will be happy to help you for the simple reason you have given the correct name to their country :)

Well, indeed: given that most people refer to my home country as "Holland" or "Amsterdam", I do want to thank you for using the correct name of my country, though I'm not quite sure if I understand correctly what you mean by "start from the Dutch first"; I'm tempted to say that after you've tried the Dutch, everything else tends to be disappointing, but maybe that's not what you wanted to know.

I'm more than willing to help you out if and where I can, but I don't have all the time in the world and the same applies to most others here I guess - so please help us narrow things down a bit (see the questions asked by Shuffaluff in #2).

As for which city to start from I would look at the price of tickets, the weather (you may want to avoid Rome in August for example), and whether are specific events you want on join. Other than that it doesn't make much difference.

If you can say something about what you're interested in, and what time of year you want to come to the Netherlands/Amsterdam/Holland, I'm sure we'll be happy to suggest things to see/do etc.
