I am travelling to Amsterdam in the morning, I had arranged to stay with friends for 3 days these plans have fallen through now. I had a look on hostel bookers and hostel world but everything I can find only has partial availability or none at all and the prices are astronomical. Same with the hotels. I'm wondering does anyone know of anywhere clean and cheap they can recommend? Would it be a bad idea just to travel and try look for accommodation when I get there?

All help would be greatly appreciated,
Thanks, Amy!

"I am travelling to Amsterdam in the morning"

Is this tomorrow morning? If it is all I can suggest is that you go to the tourist info place outside Amsterdam Centraal Station - they'll probably be able to find you somewhere within your budget (whatever "cheap" means) - don't count on it being central Amsterdam though/

Amy

did you find something? if not there are hotels out by the airport that have decent rates, bit far to go to get into town ie you have to take a 20 min train ride or walk and tram but easy and fast and cheap 3 stars for 49 euro a night.
