Hi!

Can anyone recommend some (cheap) bus companies which goes from Copenhagen to Amsterdam (and vice versa)?

There are a lot of quite cheap flights, but I really wouldn't like to take a plane.. and I've understood that trains are really expencive.

Thank you!!

I heard about a cheap (overnight) train ride to Copenhagen but I'd have to look it up. It may only be cheap if you book well in advance.

Cheap buses: Eurolines.

Ah - here is the info about the trains... starting at 29 euros for a single trip (I think you need to book early). Prices range from 29 to 149 euros.

in Dutch...
I'm sorry, that website is giving me a lot of trouble now and I can't open the English pages... but there's a button for English in top right corner, search for EuroNight / Copenhagen / Amsterdam.

as above BUT
the train only runs to 13/12-it was a trial for 1 year.
the bus does not run daily wintertime-
BOTH are cheaper if you book long time advance-like 1 month or so-not when you buy for direct start.
there are not plenty of cheap flights-only 1/day on sterling.dk, lowest price about 49€-also only if booked long time advance.

bmta, ah that would be a pity if the train stopped going (at that price), I want to go to Copenhagen in July 2009.
Nice signature by the way.... :-)

I'm not too sure the nighttrain will be decommissioned, at least it's well listed in the bahn.de-timetables for next year, which were put online yesterday.

note that, despite other regulations concerning daytrains, you may book tickets for CNL nighttrains up to 180days in advance. so in case you're looking for those special offers and are able to commit yourself to a date long in advance, it may pay off to start looking early, as Copenhagen & summer make a popular mix!

p.s. as usual, yet that's only my opinion, I would like to discourage everyone from just booking a seat, at least cough up for a couchette.

Hmm. Can't bring the Copenhagen-Amsterdam train up on bahn.de as I get a 'data not loaded'-type message for dates after the new timetable starts on 14 Dec, but I'm sure this train was still shown as running in the winter supplement of the Thomas Cook Timetable I looked at yeasterday, i.e. the forward information for the Dec 2008 to June 2009 timetable contarined in the Oct 2008 issue.
