Hi!

I am taking a three-week Dutch course in Zeist. And while I have acommodation sorted for that period, I have to find sth for the previous night and I would like to know if there are any lodging options in Zeist (or it too small for that?) Or would it be better to stay nearby in Utrecht or even Amsterdam? I think Amsterdam should be more expensive and that I might find more-budget-friendly options in the surroundings of Zeist ... I don't know if I'm right ...

Thank you!

Not necessarily - since over 90% of the low-budget visitors to the Netherlands seem to stay only in Amsterdam, you're more likely to find cheapish accommodation there. I just did a quick search on booking.com, but apart from Steyn Hotel & Appartementen all hotels near Zeist charge €100 or more for the night.

There's a Stayokay hostel in Bunnik, but getting there by public transport is inconvenient.

It would be easier for us to suggest a place to stay if we knew your budget and whether or not you have a car to get around.

There is at least one hostel in Utrecht as well: http://www.strowis.nl/GB-html/hostel-utrecht-general.html
I would stay in Utrecht the night before, because it's an easy commute to Zeist the next day by either bus or train. Plus Utrecht is a nice town and you'll find plenty of options to enjoy yourself before your course starts.
If the weather is nice, the hostel in Bunnik mentioned above is also a good option, since the surroundings are so nice (plus it has a cute restaurant/bar and a pancake house next door).

Thank a lot! I'll check those hostels!

I don't have a car to move around, and I just have one night before joining my Dutch course, so not much time to do some sightseeing around, but hopefully I'll be able to, once I'm studying Dutch. As I have no incomes at the moment, I'm looking for the most reasonably cheap option around. It seems that I was wrong assuming that A'dam would be more expensive . I just thought that every country's capital is more expensive than its average city ...
