1) How much money should I bring ? Keeping in mind we'd like to do this on the cheap. (Hostels, food, booze, drugs, souvenirs, bail, museum tickets, incidentals)
I would normally fully second finn_nl's suggestion to visit other cities in the Netherlands, but after re-reading above remarks I'd rather recommend OP to stay inside the confines of Amsterdam's RLD together with like-minded travellers rather than coming over to the beautiful historic student town where I live ;-) The good thing about all those cultured foreigners thinking that Amsterdam = Holland (sic) is that at least the rest of the country hasn't been invaded by groups on stag-do's. Let's keep it that way.
3) How much is your average beer in each country?
Go to Lidl or Aldi, buy their cheapest brand and you'll have a 6-pack of 50cl cans for a couple of €. Go to an outdoor terrace in Amsterdam and you pay up to €4 or so for a small beer (don't know the exact price because I avoid outdoor terraces in Amsterdam where I can and I prefer not to disclose the names of the places in Amsterdam where I do enjoy a beer from time to time).
4) What's the best credit card/Bank card to bring over in regard to exchange rate, ATM fees, and the like?
We still only know that your not a European resident. No clue yet about where it is that you are from, so how are we supposed to answer this question?
5) If I am so broke and can't afford a hostel how do Europeans feel about foreigners sleeping in a park?
They don't care, you may even befriend some people who can't afford a regular living and wonder why someone would voluntarily choose to spend the night in a park. In some countries you may be hassled by the police though. Anyway, ask yourself first how safe it would be.
