Hi - I am hoping someone knows some cheap airlines that fly from anywhere in Northern Italy to anywhere in Turkey - prefer Istanbul.
The only cheap airline I have found is Myair - but they aren't overly cheap for the dates I need.
Any advise would be muchly appreciated.

My friends and I are planning to spend a day or two at Lake Maggiore or Lake Como. We would either go for a day trip from Milan or spend one or two nights over at the lakes. Which would be a better choice in terms of accessibility, travelling time, scenary etc? Should we stay over or could we just take a day trip? Could anyone advise on what is the best way of getting there by public transport as we are not planning to drive?

I am intending on doing a 5 day hiking tour 2 day biking with GAP this July which in summary includes Cinque Terre, Hike and mountain bike in the Apennines, Cycle through Tuscan countryside near Lucca.

At this stage its underbooked. In the event that the tour does not go ahead, I'm considering basis myself in Florence for a week and doing some tours from there. Does anyone know of any tour companies that do 3 day tours?

1. In general, what is the "rule" on tipping? Does one tip in Italy?

2. Does anyone have any info/exeriences on the Ceri Festival in Gubbio? Someone said it is an absolute madhouse - is it? Is it worth seeing?

Hi, im planning to spend about 4 days in the Aeolian islands in early July. Is it more practical to choose one island as base and make day trips to other islands or is it more practical to stay at 2 islands? I'd like to see (at least) stromboli and Filicudi, but will be travelling witha 20 month old, so i dont know if recolating will be too ambitious?? Thanks again!

My father is taking a 7-day cruise out of Citavecchia (north of Rome and, obviously, on the coast). He arrives in Rome at 7:00 am the day before the cruise starts. Since we will meet up in Rome after his cruise for several days (I'm going to Tuscany while he's on the cruise), I thought that rather than having him rush to Rome for less than a day, he could stay somewhere between the airport and Citavecchia. Ostia Antica seemed like the perfect option (close to the airport, cool things to do) but…

Is there a pass you can buy to view all of the museums in Florence? I know London has something like not sure if Italy does. There are a lot of places in FLorence that i am going to and it adds up to quite a bit. Is there one for Rome as well since these are the two major spots in Italy with places to pay/view.

1. I am about to book a Ryanair flight from Rome's Ciampino, to Venice, but the reason I'm flying Ryanair is to save money... which means I don't want to pay for taxis or airport shuttle services where it can be avoided.

A friend and I have 6-7 days to spend in Sicily. We are flying into Palermo and are thinking of going to Palermo, Monreale, Toto and Siracusa. We would also like to have some time to lie on the beach and do nothing but sun ourselves silly, drink wine and just be a little silly.

Any suggestions that you could make including places to stay (around not more than 70 Euros a night).
