Hey to you all. Planning to rent a place in tuscany for 2 weeks, will have a car. Our plan is to do day trips from there to most of the larger cities, is this feasible? If so how best to do it, drive car to nearest train station and train from there or drive car close to city and train from there.
Any suggestions on accommodation in Tuscany? Will be in Italy in October. Would like to stay in a town/village.
Also plannig to go to Croatia, can we do this by ferry from east coast of Italy.

Hello - This summer our cruise ship is stopping for a day in Messina. I have made reservations at Hertz for a rental car. The problem is, I cannot find the address on any of the maps I look at of Messina. Does any one know how close to the Cruise docks the Hertz office is? The address we have is (Via Vittorio Emanuele II IS. 113). I am hoping that this is within walking distance. -- Thank you for any help.

Our flight is on Sunday at 1105 from Ciampino to London. We were hoping to spend 4 nights in Rome, 3 nights Sorrento then 1 night in Rome before we left but unfortunately we can't get into the same B&B on the Saturday night.

Would it be too risky to travel from Sorrento up to Rome early on the Sunday morning to make the flight?

Or any suggestions of a B&B in Rome, near Termini, double for under €75?

Please help! I cannot make a decision. I have never been to italy before and I just cannot decide where to start as everywhere sounds fantastic. I have a spare week only (this year anyway)and need some relaxation so I need to narrow my holiday down to one region I think on this ocassion. I have only managed to narrow it down to either a week on the Amalfi Coast or a week around Lake Garda. My partner and I are planning our honeymoon for mid Dec this year and would really like to go to Italy - even though we know we'll freeze as we will be coming from an Australian summer! We are currently thinking we'd like to go to Rome, Florence, Venice, Verona, the Cinque Terre and Lake Como. We would really appreciate some advice as to whether all these places would be good to visit in winter (not really sure if the Cinque Terre for example is very winter-friendly for a tourist)…

I'm heading to Sirmione for a week in Aug, the flight gets in around 8 just wondering any idea how much a taxi would cost ? also I'm trying to plan something special while there its our 30th wedding anv. so any ideas would be great,
