I'm planning a 3 week trip to Italy and Greece in summer of 2008. Our group is 2 adults, 2 teens and a baby. I'm using airmiles to fly from Montreal to any city in Italy and need to make my way to Greece by land, sea or air. I'm looking for economy but don't want too much of a chunk taken out of the trip by travel (I'm a bit daunted by the idea of 30 hours on a ferry with a baby!). The cheapest airfare I've found is $604 cad/person Rome to Chania. The cheapest ferry is Brindisi to Corfu in…

Hi-
I am attending a conference at the University of Perugia next month (July 5-12) and waited too long to make my hotel reservations. Apparently there is a big music festival going on at the same time (which I didn't realize) so there are no available hotels or hostels in the entire city, from what I can tell. Does anyone know if any of the surrounding towns have public transportation that I could take into the university? Or suggestions on where else to look for accommodations? I would…

Hi

I've read lonely planet guidebooks and I realised that some streets near the Termini station isnt very safe and must be avoided, such as that southwest to the station ( or to the left as you leave the platforms ) Is this true?

Where should I stay if I still wish to stay around the station? It says that northeast of the station is safer but what exactly are the streets around that area?

Thanks in advance for your help! =)

I am taking my family.... father, mother, husband, and three younger brothers and sisters on a very short road trip...following a wedding in Orvieto at the end of June. We hope to stay in Florence for one night or two....and then travel to Pisa and fly home from there. i have been to these areas but am afraid I know my parents won't stand for a campsite, convent or hostel. Please help someone and recommend a reasonable hotel in florence and/or a nice place to stay mid- point between florence and…

Hi.

We (two of us) are flying into Alghero on 6th July and departing on 13th July (7 nights). Could people please suggest:

1. whether we should stay in Alghero - for the whole week?

2. accommodation that they would recommend - reasonably priced and hopefully no more than €100 per night - most likely in a hotel;

3. things we must see/do whilst there;

4. whether you think it is necessary to rent a car - we only have one provisional licence between us; and

5. any other information you think…

Exchange Student (perhaps)

Hey,

I am thninking of doing an exchange program in semester 2, 2008 in Milan. I am studying a Masters of Commerce at UNSW in Sydney and was wondering what it would be like to study there. I have always wanted to go to Italy and there is an option for me to study at there in 2008.

I was just wondering what the cost of living was there and how easy/difficult it would be for me and my lady to find some accommodation for around 200-300AUD/week i.e 120EUR-220EUR/week…

Hey guys,

We are going to Milan, Venice, Sienna, Florence, Pisa, Rome, Sorrento, Capri, the Amalfi Coast and Naples. I have already booked in advance to see the Last Supper in Milan. I need some suggestions on what I should be booking in advance. I don't really have much of an itinerary as of yet ... just seeing if the TT can help me decide on what to see ... I figure, if I need reservations well in advance then its something I should probably see. Thanks for your suggestions.
