I'd like to stay for a few days in a nice town in the Valle d'Aosta. I read that Aosta is a good starting point to go into the mountains, but that it's bustling and more of a city than a town, and that doesn't appeal to me.

What I'm looking for:

--- a small, easy-to-get-around-on-foot place with nice scenery both of the surrounding countryside and also within the town itself
--- a place I can get to easily from Milano
--- a place from which I can easily take excursions into the mountains

I won't

Hi,
We arrive in Milan and have two days before we take an early morning flight to Istanbul.
Any suggestions on where to stay (budget hotel) in Milan close to the ariport in Bergamo?
We are a family with two boys, ages 11 and 6, and will need to get to the airport to take a 7 am flight.

Also, we would love to go to Cinque Terre for the day or possibly the first night. Any suggestions on what to do in this limited time?
Thanks!

Hi all--
Going to be spending 3 nights in Florence. Is it a good idea to plan one day trip to Pisa from Florence, or will I be overwhelmed with too much to see in Florence for that amount of time? I like art, but don't have to see everything, just the highlights. I've already booked the nights, so can only do a day trip. And no, I don't have more time. If I were going to take a day trip to Pisa, I understand it's a little over an hour on the train. Should I buy my ticket online to get to…

Hi would love any advise on the above places!
I read that there pink flamengos in Sardinia. Where is the best area/place to stay in Sardinia for the beach and the flamingos! We're flying into Caglieri and are there for 2nts.
We then fly back to Pisa and continue onto the Cinque Terra. My friend stayed in the R...village and said it was lovely. We only have 2nts and are arriving quite late the first night. Also we have a Italy rail pass does this cover the trains in Cinque Terra?
We are then going…

I will be in Roma the end of August. Does anyone know of any good, cheap, and clean hostels or B&Bs in Roma?? I would like it to be in Trastevere, but I realize that might be more expensive.

Hi

Im travelling to Tuscany for 5 nights in Sept with my parents and boyfriend and am having difficulty deciding where to base ourselves.

Im thinking either just outside of San Gimignano or Chianti (Greve, Castellina or Radda). We plan to do day trips to Siena, Florence so either of these places Im guessing would be perfect.

Ultimately Im looking to stay in beautiful tuscan accomodation within a short walk or drive to a lively town with a choice of restaurants etc. Somewhere relaxing but not…

I will be in Italy from the 17th of July and am planning on traveling from the north (Verona) right down to the south to get the ferry to Greece. I will be in Italy for around 2 weeks. Does anyone have any opinions or suggestions about travel? Is it cheaper for point to point travel or would an IterRail pass be good? thanks x

Hi Everybody,

Fortunately, my girlfriend and I have prepared to backpack Italy this coming August to October and looking for the opportunity to learn some fresh pasta making and cooking in out trip. Have been searched around the web for short cooking courses, found out that most of them are unbelievable expensive.

Therefore, just wonder if anyone here has any suggestions for us or know some cheaper classes that run by the local mammas.

Thanks very much! Any reply will be much appreciated!

ciao…
